In a tranquil setting, this large property, over 2600 sq ft, with additional covered deck areas of over 300 square feet, sits in over 1/2 acre of landscaped, enclosed garden with stunning views over Loch Fyne and surrounding mountains. Just above the village of Strachur the house is within easy walking distance of the local shop, restaurant, pub, pontoon (boat mooring available and also boat trips can be arranged) and stony beach.
This home is ideal for families, a larger extended family or a group of friends who want a quiet holiday in a peaceful location, a perfect base for touring Argyll and the western Highlands.
Ardfyne is an extremely spacious, light -filled property and is tastefully decorated and furnished in a contemporary style. The landscaped garden surrounds the home on all sides and is filled with flowering shrubs, bulbs and trees. Deer, red squirrels, pheasants and a great variety of bird-life can be seen from the house.
On the ground floor there is a spacious hallway and a very large, fully fitted, well equipped, modern, cream kitchen (15 by 12 feet) with view over the back garden. Everything that you need for a self-catering holiday! Including an American style fridge freezer with huge storage capacity as well as a separate fridge and separate freezer. Off the kitchen is a useful utility room with washing machine and sink. Wheelchair access ramp. On the ground floor there is a large public room with beautiful views over the garden and loch. The dining room/ conservatory with huge oak table and leather seating for 10 gives superb views over the garden, loch and 2 patio areas.
Bedroom 4 On the ground floor there is a double bedroom with dual aspect windows and fitted wardrobe.
Bedroom 5/ games room, The younger guest is catered for as well with the provision of a downstairs games room with pool table, play area and double sofa bed. Bedding for this is ONLY provided if requested or if there are 9 or 10 guests.
A spacious public bathroom is also on this floor.
A huge deck area runs along the front of the house, ideal for catching the afternoon and late evening sun, even when it rains.
On the upper floor there is a stunning, open-plan viewing/seating area with 2 large leather sofas and leather bean bags. The patio doors open on to a viewing deck. This area is double height with exposed wooden beams.
Watch spectacular sunsets over the bay and surrounding hills and mountains. Glass balconies (both internal and external) give uninterrupted views over Loch Fyne and Baycroft Bay Moorings in the bay below. The Creggans Inn and the popular town of Inverary can both be seen clearly from the upper balcony.
Upstairs there are 3 huge bedrooms, all with en-suites and built in wardrobes.
Bedroom 1 - with a solid oak king bed is a beautiful double window aspect room with views across the garden, hills and loch. It has its own en-suite with bath and shower as well as a study area with desk.
Bedroom 2 - with double bed and oak furniture - has stunning views over the loch from 2 windows. Includes en-suite with bath and shower and desk area.
Bedroom 3 - has a feature window over the rear garden and open hillside/ woodland behind the house. Tiled en-suite with shower.
All upstairs bedrooms have a large wall mirror and full length mirror.
A sofa chair in the upstairs can sleep a child. Bedding for this must be REQUESTED.
Ardfyne can accommodate up to 10 adults/children. The garden is a wonderful area to relax in and enjoy the views. There are many mature trees and spectacular displays of flowering shrubs and bulbs. There are 2 large lawn areas and many stone chip paths to wander along from one area to the other. A small stream runs along one side of the garden. There are 2 patio areas to catch the early morning and evening sun.
A few minutes walk takes you down to a pebbled shore with a public pontoon and ramp from where you can look out over the bay with its moored yachts.

Further details outdoors: There are 2 patio areas, one catching the morning sun, the other the evening sun. Picnic table provided. Parking for 4 cars. Charcoal B.B.Q.- not available in the winter. Ardfyne is superb for children. Games room with pool table. A short walk takes you down to the pontoon from where you can fish or catch crabs and see starfish. A mooring for a boat is available. Also boat trips can be arranged for large groups - go seal and porpoise spotting)
