Summary:
Beautiful family home with three bedrooms, kitchen, dining area, living room and a bathroom. Modern, bright & very comfortable. Up to 2 well behaved pets are welcome, but we ask for £35 per pet per week. Booking with us gives you access to discounts to some cafes and amenities in Cambridge! Please be aware that currently there is some construction work going on near the rear of the property so there might be some noise between 8am and 5pm.
The Space:
This spacious house has fast Wi-Fi, smart tv with an Amazon firestick allowing you to watch Netflix, Prime, etc. The kitchen has a double oven, a large fridge-freezer and a large gas hob and all the equipment you need during your stay. There is a cosy lounge with two comfortable sofas. At the rear of the property there is a lovely garden for you to enjoy those special sunny days. On the first floor, there are 3 bedrooms, one with a king-size bed, another with twin beds which can be turned into a double bed (advance notice needed) and a single room. there is also a bathroom with separate bath and shower.
The Neighborhood:
You have the many spectacular sights of historic Cambridge within easy reach - this neighbourhood is a quiet backwater but is about 2 miles from the very centre of the city, a very pleasant bike ride along the river Cam.
Shops – the nearest small supermarket is Nisa on Green End Road.
There is a Tesco Express in Chesterton High Street & a larger Tesco, Lidl & Aldi on Newmarket Road which is about 10 min drive.
Great coffee and cakes at Barbarella on Chesterton High St – open seven days 9am - 5pm (subject to change).
A great deli/restaurant called Stir on Chesterton Road is about a 15 minute walk or you can park outside.
There is also a fish and chip shop on Chesterton High Street called ‘Small Fry’.
Good local pubs nearby are:
• The Green Dragon 8 mins walk
• The Wresters (Thai food) 20 min walk
Getting Around:
There is a bus service (No 114) just outside the door which runs into the city centre, about every 45 mins.
The house is only a short walk from the river Cam. It’s a lovely walk along the river into Cambridge city centre, it will take about 35 mins. Walks along the river form here are idyllic as you watch rowers gliding past on their morning training, and the many fascinating house boats which form part of the local community.
If you have bikes or hire them it takes about 10 mins.
Cambridge North train station is just a 5 minute walk away, where trains will whisk you to London Kings Cross in 45 minutes.
Other Things to Note:
For stays over 10 days, you are expected to have interim cleans/linen change (frequency to be agreed depending on length of stay) for an extra fee. This will have to be agreed in writing via messages before your check-in date. Should you decline this offer, at your check out date, if our clean team will have to spend longer than their contracted hours to bring the property back to its original condition, you will be liable for the additional charges.
This vacation home is located in Chesterton, a neighborhood in Cambridge. Castle Hill and Bridge of Sighs are local landmarks, and some of the area's attractions include Christ's Fellows' Gardens and Scott Polar Research Institute. Cambridge Muslim Welfare Society and Mill Road are also worth visiting.
