Ala Moana which means ‘Path to the Sea’ in Hawaiian, is a spacious contemporary detached house that sits in a private lush garden on the Pentire Headland, almost surrounded by water. Most notably, the world renowned Fistral Beach is pretty much over the road, and the Gannel estuary, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, is a short stroll away. Fistral Beach, with its beachside café, pizzeria, surf schools and shops, along with its ¾ mile of golden sand and world class surf, is a jewel in Newquay’s crown, a perfect way to spend a day. The Gannel estuary is a haven for birdlife, and the perfect place to enjoy a stroll, and maybe have a go at stand up paddle boarding. The centre of bustling Newquay is very close by, but the headland is in a very peaceful part of the town. There are several excellent restaurants and café bars nearby, and superb walks along the picturesque coastal path. Newquay is home to some of the best surfing beaches in Europe, and there are many surf schools in the town providing qualified tutors. Other activities include coasteering, kite surfing at nearby Watergate Bay and kayaking from the picturesque harbour in the town. Newquay also has a working harbour, tropical gardens, a Sea Life Centre, a zoo, a links golf course, (within walking distance), horse riding, bicycle hire, sea going trips for fishing, and two leisure centres. There are also many places to visit nearby, including, Camel Creek Adventure Park, Dairyland, the Japanese Garden and Trerice Manor, a National Trust house and garden. There are many beaches and fishing villages along the coast, from St Agnes in the south to Padstow in the north, and many excellent restaurants, including those of the TV Chef Rick Stein. Padstow provides an enjoyable day out for the whole family. You can wander through the narrow streets, and enjoy the evening by the working harbour, or hire a bike and cycle along the famous Camel Trail, a flat off road trail that hugs the shore of the estuary. At Watergate Bay, 2 miles from Newquay, you can dine in Jamie Oliver’s restaurant, Fifteen Cornwall, and then take a stroll on the wide beach, which is home to the British Kite Surfing centre. Truro, Fowey, the Eden Project and the Lost Gardens of Heligan are all easily reached from this perfectly positioned holiday home. Beach 300 yards. Shop 300 yards, pub and restaurant ¼ mile.
