Situated in the heart of the English Riviera, equi-distant between Paignton and Brixham town centres, (10 minutes drive to each), is a stunning, sandy beach haven called Broadsands Beach.
Sea-spot apartment is an easy 5-minute stroll to this beach, which has a relaxed vibe and is surrounded by trees and greenery in every direction. The beach forms part of the South West Coast path and there are stunning walks along the headland directly from the beach and along the coastline. It’s a photographers and bird watchers paradise! Often you will see swans (and black swans if you’re really lucky) at Broadsands Beach as well as the resident seals of Brixham that often come to Broadsands to fish.
The apartment itself, which is accessed via large glass sliding doors into the lounge has a generous South facing garden and seating area where you can soak up the sun when you're not out exploring. There is also a purpose-built parking space next to the garden.
We have paid particular attention to your comfort with a king-size bed, a large Smart TV in the lounge and a "picture" TV in the bedroom. Both have Netflix access so you will never be short of something to watch if you decide on a quiet night in. Alternatively, there are cards and board games for you to enjoy.
The generously proportioned bathroom is very modern and has a large shower and 2 sinks.
In the lounge there is a very comfortable sofa where you can relax and enjoy the garden views, or watch your favourite programmes on the 55" TV, with everything you need to hand.
Sea-spot has its own heating controller, so you're in charge and a very quiet remote-controlled fan should you need cooling down.
Purpose built, the apartment/annex is all on one level and has been tastefully furnished with couples in mind, with everything you might need for a relaxing holiday.
Please note there is no separate kitchen at the Sea-spot but there is a microwave, small fridge, toaster, kettle, plates, cutlery, glasses etc. for you to make snacks or simple meals and a small table and chairs to eat at. In the bathroom there are 2 sinks, including a large butlers sink for if you want to wash up any crockery.
Of course, being the English Riviera there are numerous excellent quality restaurants within a short driving distance and the beauty is that you are right in the heart of things here. There are approx. 30 venues offering food delivery locally.
There is a takeaway with eat in cafe at the top of the hill, approximately a 10-minute walk or a 1-minute drive. There is a well-stocked local shop/off license and a chemist. There are many other takeaways, including Chinese and Indian, within a short drive including the renowned Rockfish and Simply Fish Takeaway (and restaurants) a 10-minute drive away in Brixham.
There is a newly refurbished restaurant on Broadsands Beach called “Venus on the Beach” and a smaller kiosk style ice cream and snack parlour, both with outside seating where you can enjoy the stunning views of Broadsands Beach and bay and views of the English Riviera coastline and Torquay.
Many of the local supermarkets offer grocery deliveries which we are more than happy to take in prior to your arrival. (Asda, Sainsbury's, Morrisons)
If you love walking you are in the right place because Broadsands Beach is on the famous 630-mile South West Coast path which is England's longest waymarked long-distance footpath and a National Trail. The sandy beach itself is stunning and the sheltered harbour makes this a great place to swim, kayak or SUP (Stand up paddle-board). There is a kiosk renting both Kayaks and SUPS (PFDs are included in the reasonable prices) and you can even hire a wetsuit if required.
In the local village of Galmpton you will find The Manor Inn, which is a local pub/restaurant that run 2 quizzes a week as well as a steak night and have a pool table and darts.
If you prefer not to drive into Brixham, Paignton or Torquay there is the number 12 bus which you can find at the top of the hill.
In the wider Torbay area, you will be spoilt for choice for things to do. There are numerous Beaches, coves and walks to explore. There is a free to use open air Lido if you want to swim in the sunshine but not in the sea,
Agatha Christies house Greenway which is a National Trust property is close by
There are numerous Theatres within a short drive, The Brixham Theatre, Princess Theatre, Palace Theatre, Babbacombe Theatre to name a few.

There is Paignton Green, which is a 20-minute drive away that hosts various events such as the Circus and funfairs if that’s your thing. There is also the annual Torbay Airshow which features the world-famous Red Arrows and the Battle of Britain flight, both of which are likely to fly overhead at your holiday home!
The stroll around Brixham Harbour is full of stunning vistas where you will likely see seals, swans, possibly dolphins and numerous types of seabirds. There is a full-size replica of Francis Drake’s famous Golden Hind to explore or you can walk to the lighthouse via the breakwater, with sea all around, you will see fishermen with their rods trying to catch the local fish (why not join them!) and professional trawlermen going out in their larger fishing vessels. You can take a tour of the bay from Brixham harbour or even go to stunning Dartmouth, Paignton or Torquay via the many water ferries and pleasure cruisers. There are even Sunset cruises!
If you like steam trains you will pass under the famous Brunel viaduct to get to your holiday accommodation and you’re sure to spot the Steam train wending its way along the coast, especially in the Summer months but they also do a specially lit Christmas train in December. Views of this can be seen from Broadsands Beach and another local beach at nearby Goodrington. You can of course take a nostalgic trip on the train from Paignton, which is a 10-minute drive or you really can enjoy the day and do the “Round Robin” trip. This encompasses the steam train to Kingswear, followed by a short tug ferry or chain ferry ride over to Dartmouth, followed by a trip on a river boat to Totnes and finally an open-air tourist bus back to the start at Paignton. Alternatively, you can take the steam train to Kingswear, ferry to Dartmouth and take the Kingswear Castle pre-war paddle steamer up the river Dart. Dartmouth is also home to the annual Dartmouth Royal Regatta as well as food and music festivals.
However you like to spend your holiday, relaxing with a good book, action packed, walking or sight-seeing, it's all here on your doorstep!

Pirates Bay Adventure Golf and Dartmouth Steam Railway are worth checking out if an activity is on the agenda, while those looking for area attractions can visit Splashdown Quaywest and Paignton Zoo.
