Burnville Farm is a lovely traditional farmstead hidden in trees on the edge of open Dartmoor two miles from the Devon village of Lydford. The Red Barn is situated a mile away by car or ten minutes across fields from the farmyard. With two other holiday homes, you enjoy access to the 250 acre farm with its farm animals, pond for picnicking beside and wildlife, and you are even welcome to help on the farm if you wish. There are all kinds of wonderful activities available here. There is a seasonal outdoor swimming pool and a tennis court (shared with the owners), plus a games room and well equipped gym in an adapted barn. You can arrange to experience clay pigeon shooting and archery, or have fun games of badminton or volleyball. Golf and gliding are on offer just a couple of miles from Burnville Farm. With direct access to the open moors from the farm, this is lovely walking country and you can arrange to use mountain bikes too or bring your own horses. With seasonal eggs and veg available, plus the option of meals in the owner's' house or professional catering in your own holiday home, you can feast like kings. The hall leads into the big living room with wood burning stove and French windows to the terrace. The pretty kitchen with dining area is well equipped, and through a lockable door is your own ‘endless flow’ indoor swimming pool with treadmill and rowing machine. Upstairs, the three bedrooms are all en suite but with their own character. With all the activities on site, plus the beautiful hills of Dartmoor beyond, Roadford Lake for water sports and pubs and amenities in Lydford and Tavistock, the Red Barn is a fine place to truly relax and have fun.
