Town: Bovey Tracey is a beautiful, small town known as "The Gateway to the Moor" lies tucked away in the River Bovey valley. The winding river that runs through Bovey Tracey gave the town its name, with "Tracey" standing for the family that held the manor following the Norman Conquest. It has a rich history that includes significant role in the English Civil War, which gave the town's bar, "The Cromwell Arms," which offers excellent ale and delectable food, its name. The History Centre, which is next to the Dartmoor National Park Authority, has information on the town's past. Together with the breath-taking Mill Marsh Park and the Dartmoor Whisky Distillery, which offers guided tours, Bovey Tracey offers a variety of shops and cafés. The Dartmoor National Park, which offers apparently infinite walking and cycling pathways as well as stunning scenery, is located right outside the town.
Located in Newton Abbot, this lodge is in a rural area. Old Walls Vineyard and Go Ape Haldon are worth checking out if an activity is on the agenda, while those wishing to experience the area's natural beauty can explore Dartmoor National Park and Stover Country Park. Looking to enjoy an event or a game while in town? See what's happening at Newton Abbot Racecourse or Torquay United FC. Practice your golf swing on a nearby course, or enjoy other activities in the great outdoors, such as cycling and hiking/biking trails in the area.
