ACCESS TO TARKA TRAIL AND RIVER TORRIDGE

This unusual and deceptively spacious property offers simple comfort in a peaceful and sheltered setting (Devon County Wildlife Site), and is suitable for holidays all year round and for a wide variety of groups, families and couples. It is ideal for active people who enjoy walking, cycling, canoeing, bird watching or river fishing. For those just wanting to relax, the surrounding area is tranquil and the scenery is breathtaking. There is direct access to the Tarka Trail (traffic free) and the property is within easy reach of Weare Giffard and Bideford. With private riverside walks and conservation areas (with bird hide) a variety of wildlife may be seen. Many sandy beaches and attractions are close by.

Originally part of a 19th century shipyard and adjacent to the entrance of Lord Rolle's Canal (an ongoing restoration scheme), this converted property has exposed beams/timbers throughout. The 3 large, glazed, front doors provide wonderful views across the Torridge Valley. The ground floor is tiled, the loft floor and stairs are varnished timber. The accommodation offers THREE bedrooms: on the first floor 2 bedrooms each sleeping 5 (1 double, 1 single and 1 bunks) with under-bed storage, hanging rails and hooks for clothing. On the ground floor there is 1 twin. Shower room: 2 fully-tiled rooms with WC on the ground floor, 1 similar shower room/WC is accessible from outside the barn (instant electric showers). Lounge/kitchen/diner: open-plan area with TV, Freeview, DVD, video and hi-fi, a well-equipped kitchen with cooker, microwave, fridge/freezer, further fridge, washing machine, tumble dryer and solid fuel Rayburn. Outside: is a secure fenced area with BBQ, picnic benches and camp fire, meadow area beyond. Amenities: ample parking. Bed linen and electric included. Central heating and hot water provided by Rayburn (fuel supplied). Regret no smoking, pets or fireworks. Additional info: camping available for larger groups by arrangement. Location: beach 6 miles, shops and golf 4 miles, village cricket/playground 1 mile, pub 1.5 miles.
