Cross the threshold into your new abode, kicking back on the plush sofas in the sitting room in front of the roaring woodburning stove as you click on the Smart TV; allow the designated chef to rustle up a tasty dish in the well-stocked kitchen before settling down in the formal dining room and toasting to a fantastic getaway over a bottle of fizz. If you prefer to dine alfresco, why not step out into the enclosed garden and relish mealtimes amongst your stunning surroundings; the garden is home to a wide variety of birds who constantly visit the feeders on the lawn which guests are encouraged to keep topped up from the bins in the porch. Bird and plant identification books and a pair of binoculars are kept on the small table by the dining room window, a great spot for bird watching. When the evening draws to a close choose from one of four immaculate bedrooms including a king-size with wash basin, a double with washbasin, a family room with king-size and single beds and a twin, all offering stunning views into the wildlife friendly garden - and not another house in sight. Enjoy heading onto Rockford Common from the back gate where you are bound to come across the local New Forest ponies, cattle and donkeys who roam freely throughout the year, with foraging pigs round the local lanes in the autumn and from time-to-time deer wandering past outside the fence. Walk or cycle for miles without ever needing to go on a main road. If you can tear yourself away, kickstart your itinerary at Blashford Lakes Nature Reserve where you can spend the day birdwatching or traversing the magnificent landscape. Close by you can also find the Bolderwood Deer Sanctuary, Furzey Gardens and Moors Valley Country Park and Forest, ideal for nature and animal lovers. Travel to Bournemouth for a chance to enjoy Bournemouth Parks, Oceanarium, Bournemouth Pier and Bournemouth Beach, perfect for relaxing along the sandy shores or for a taste of city life, venture to Southampton, host to Solent Sky Museum, SeaCity Museum and Southampton City Art Gallery, in addition to a wealth of pubs, restaurants, bars and cafés where you can delight in dinner and drinks. If you enjoy history the mediaeval city of Salisbury is a short journey away, its stunning cathedral with Britain’s tallest spire, the world’s oldest mechanical clock and the best-preserved original 1215 Magna Carta. Approximately half an hour north of Salisbury is the World Heritage Site of Stonehenge; a visit offers something for all the family. However you fill your days in Hampshire, do it from the homely base of Primrose Spinney.
