Settled on the delightful civil parish of Canvey Island, just off the coast of Essex, is this remarkable detached house, Maisonwyck.

Set over three floors and sleeping up to fourteen guests, Maisonwyck is an exquisite retreat for any group looking to explore Canvey Island and its surrounding area, with the large town of Basildon and the resort of Southend-on-Sea easily accessible.

The house is located only one hour from London. But trust me, here,–you’ll feel a million miles from Monday.

Revel in relaxation in the large and elegant sitting room, as you sit back on the generous corner suite to watch your favourite film on the Smart TV, comforted by the warmth of the open fire.

There will be a battle to be the designated chef in the contemporary kitchen, with everything you could need to prepare delicious home-cooked meals that will be sure to put a smile on everyone’s faces.

Your group has the option to settle down for meals in the kitchen, or gather around the long table in the tasteful dining room to toast to a wonderful holiday in the most beautiful setting.


Your party can enjoy a nightcap and continue the evening in the well-appointed games room with a full-size snooker table, a Smart TV for those not playing, and a bar area where you can sit and enjoy your favourite tipple with friends.


When sleep calls, travel to the first floor where you will discover five bedrooms, four of which have their own private en-suite, and each one as beautifully decorated as the next in a rich monochrome palette.
Completing the first floor is the bathroom where you can pour in the bubbles and unwind before joining your party for an evening of fun and games.


Following the stairs up the second floor, you will find the final bedroom, a double with its own en-suite in a partial loft conversion, perfect for those looking for a little more privacy.


Back on the ground-floor, walk through the middle garden that has patio area and seating and enjoy a few lengths in the heated indoor pool, or enjoying the warm bubbles of the neighbouring jacuzzi.


Step outside to the social hub of the property, the generous garden where you can enjoy a morning sun bathe on the sun loungers, enjoy your morning coffee at the outside dining table, put your favourite song on the outdoor speakers and relax, and if you start to feel peckish, there is a convenient outdoor kitchen with barbecue where you and your guests can rustle up a snack.

Maisonwyck is ideally located so no amenity is too far, walk the short distance to the Sak’s Bar where you and your group can enjoy well-priced drinks, good music and a good atmosphere among the locals, or continue past where you will find a good selection of eateries to suit any taste and budget.

Grab the kids buckets and spades and take the short stroll to the small, yet beautiful beach of Thorney Bay, which provides impressive views across to the Kent coast and sights of boats coming into the Thames Estuary and where children can enjoy making sandcastles, a paddle, or the delights of the play park to the rear of the beach.

Spend a fun-filled day at the nearby seafront amusement park of Fantasy Island, where you can test your luck on the penny slots, challenge the little ones to a round of crazy golf, or soak in the captivating views across the water from the traditional carousel ride.

For any transport enthusiasts, a trip to the Canvey Island Transport Museum is an excellent spot, where you can view an array of vehicles from years gone by, as well as artefacts and the museums very own functioning model railway layout.
For fun-filled family days out, the Stay and Splash at the Paddocks Community Centre will be a sure hit with its lido, climbing frame and on-site restaurant serving delicious snacks, or the Leisure Island Fun Park which sits near to the Canvey Seafront and offers a variety of fairground rides, go-karts and trampolines.

For a change of scenery, take the short drive to the large town of Basildon, home to beautiful parks perfect for those who enjoy scenic walks, its own golf club and the popular Festival Wakeboard and Aqua Park where you can take part in wakeboarding, knee boarding or enjoy the delights of the Aqua Park.

For more beach action the resort town of Southend-on-Sea has much to offer with its 1.33-mile historical Southend Pier, where you can enjoy a coffee whilst enjoying the expansive seaside views.

Treat the kids and the big kids to the rides and thrills of the Adventure Island theme park, one of Southend-on-Sea’s longest running seaside attractions.
Venture a little further to the large town of Grays, where you can delve into the local history at the Thurrock Museum, learn about the history of the Essex fire service at The Essex Fire Museum, or wander the picturesque Grays Chalk Quarry Nature Reserve, with its lakes and lush woodlands, a perfect picnic spot!


Maisonwyck is an extraordinary setting for your trip to the Essex Coast, which will leave you wanting to return year after year.

Pool and Jacuzzi is subject to availbility

2. Booking a reservation constitutes an agreement to comply with the House Rules. Guests who violate these rules are liable to pay a minimum fine of £250 and for any associated damages, fees, costs, or expenses.

3. Standard Check-in is at 3 pm. Checkout is at 10 am. Early check-in or late checkout may be available upon request with a minimal fee.

Guests who stay beyond their designated checkout time without approval and/or delay from my housekeeping staff will be charged the minimum fine of £500 plus the equivalent rate of night/nights affected plus cleaner reschedule and or cancellation charge.

4. Please contact me If you are booking within your city of residence.

5. Smoking, parties, and excessive noise are not allowed (quiet time is between 8 PM and 8 AM), including on balconies and in shared spaces. These violations are subject to fines plus the cost to clean, deodorize, and repair damages.

6. Commercial photography/videography without written consent, Illegal activity, prostitution, and possession of firearms is strictly prohibited.

7. Overnight guests that exceed the number stated in the reservation are not allowed. Unauthorized guests will be subject to fines.

8. Pets are not allowed. Violation of my pet policy may result in a fine. I encourage guests with service animals to contact me before their stay.

9. Guests are responsible for covering the cost to replace lost keys, and lockouts. Charges may also apply if the keys are not returned on time. The minimum charge is £100.

10. If you would like to extend your booking, please contact me 48 hours prior to check out otherwise extra cleaning charges may apply.

11. Cleaning fee: Regular fee to prepare for your stay (please check the cleaning fee amount upon booking)

For bookings longer than 14 days I charge an additional 50% of the cleaning fee OR schedule a mid-stay clean ( this is the same amount as the standard cleaning fee). This also applies to alterations or extensions.

Mid-stay cleans include fresh linen, towel change, and replenishment of complementary consumables such as toiletries, etc. If you require more cleaning please let me know. Standard cleaning fee charges will apply.

12. All extra services like mid-stay clean, early check-in, etc must be paid upon booking or prior to the check-in date. All payments must be done within the Airbnb platform for safe and easy transactions.

13. Strictly no charging of electric vehicles (e-cars)

Feel free to access and use my garden or the outdoor spaces.

Please keep in mind that the garden up-keeping and treatment is scheduled once every 2months.

Since we have greenery in our outdoor spaces, it's only natural to occasionally see small insects, etc. But please do not hesitate to reach out if this causes you inconvenience.

This villa is located in Canvey Island. Wick Country Park and Belfairs Wood, Park and Nature Reserve reflect the area's natural beauty and area attractions include Hadleigh Farm and Two Tree Island. Rayleigh Indoor Karting Stadium and Battlesbridge Antiques and Craft Centre are also worth visiting.
