Walden House is set in a stunning location and is just a few short miles away from the stunning English Heritage Audley End House, as well as the mainline train station to London, Cambridge and Stansted Airport. This area of north Essex is famous for its country setting and is often referred to as ‘Essex’s Best Kept Secret’. You’ll be able to benefit from the castle garden and grounds, long walks, nature reserves, swimming baths, cobbled streets, listed buildings and architecture as well as much more. Do you want to get out and explore? A 25-minute drive will see you travel to Bishops Stortford, Stansted Mountfitchet Castle or the glorious village green and duck pond at Finchingfield. A little further and you can be in Great Dunmow.

The city of Cambridge can be easily reached. Here you can enjoy a city of culture, numerous shops, restaurants and pubs, museums, Botanical Gardens and even a spot of punting on the River Cam. London is 45 miles away and again can be reached in just over an hour by train or car so if you fancy travelling further afield, taking in some of the capital’s highlights or a theatre trip then it is easily done!
