A beautifully constructed two bedroomed log cabin that offers the lovely sense of outdoor living with indoor creature comforts! Just north of the Brecon Beacons national park and nestling in the folds of the hills. Guests can enjoy an excellent view either out on the spacious elevated decking accessed by double french windows from the lounge, or from within the fully insulated and centrally heated cabin.
The Cabin is made up of a open plan kitchen and lounge with double doors opening out onto a spacious decking. There is a double bedroom and a second bedroom with a full sized bunk bed. There is also a shower room. The Cabin is fully centrally heated from the farm's biomass heating system.
The cottage sits in the main farm complex above the black barn and the horse riding arena. You have your own access and come and go as you please. You can bring your car to the front door of the Cabin if necessary.
Hugh is the farm owner, lives in the main farm house opposite the cottage and works on the farm during the day so he is available most of the time and is happy for you to knock on the door if you have any queries or need some help.
Please note that access to the farm is along unsurfaced track and crosses a culvert. This is usually not a problem however, immediately after exceptionally heavy rain the track can get washed away into deeper ruts and the the culvert can flow over the concrete crossing point. There have been occasions when I have had to ferry guests across in 4x4. Even when the water is not a problem, low slung cars can find it difficult to negotiate the track. With care a vehicle such as a VW Golf can manage to get in and out quite easily.
There is a laundry in the main barn that guests are welcome to use. The barn can also be used for drying and storage of bikes etc.
The farm is home to 5 horses, 5 chickens, 5 cows, 4 ducks, 1 cat and 2 dogs.
Located in Brecon, this cabin is in a rural area. Ely Tower and Llandovery Castle are local landmarks, and some of the area's attractions include Sbri Cymru Ltd and National Showcaves Centre for Wales. Be sure not to miss outdoor adventures like cycling, hiking/biking trails, and horse riding.
