A Cotswold idyll over looking an organic meadow onto hills, woods and pastures beyond. Here you can relax in total peace cradled in natures sweet embrace. A haven to enjoy the beautiful gardens and grounds, the animals, swimming pool and tennis court. Extremely well situated, you can access culture, markets, racing, polo, pubs, walks, bike rides, or simply while away the time in the luxurious home and gardens.
The kitchen has a traditional Aga which keeps the house toasty and invites lingering evenings to put the world to rights. The stars are simply beautiful and in the day, the copper beeches, and redwoods inspire poetry and magic to flow. The rose garden has a table where you can sit and draw or have your morning coffee. The views are breathtaking and once you have had your fill, you can withdraw to the big open fires in the sitting and playrooms or have a bath in your room overlooking the far reaching views. The fires are laid daily by the groundsman Bill who is there to look after garden and home. The children can bounce on the trampoline set into the lawn in the garden, or swim and play tennis, and bike ride around the village and locale. There are plenty of toys too to keep them busy in the playroom, and a pingpong table for competitive games! After which, you may wish to have a fondue in the dining room which our lovely housekeeper Zeata can lay for you and better still, clear up.
The walks locally invite you to explore ancient woodlands, babbling books, make dams and wade in rivers. A full map and list of walks, pubs and wonderful places to visit is provided in the guidebook.
There are two characterful wonderfully friendly dogs on site; a basset hound called Bizou and a white retriever named Aslan. They are resident at the cottage with Bill and can be kept out of your way, or visit you, depending on your desire.
There is a menagerie of chicken, Indian runner ducks and Sebastopol geese who will lay you eggs, and enjoy your company should you wish to visit them.
A beautifully stocked vegetable garden beckons you to cook what is in season, with the herbs of the herb garden with a fully stocked help-yourself larder.
A home filled with love that invites you to rest and bask in nature and good company.
