Toads, lizards, and oyster catchers among other amphibians and reptiles call the Newborough Warren sand dune system, located behind the beach and designated as a National Nature Reserve, home. In addition to the Anglesey Sea Zoo, Foel Farm, and Anglesey Sea Salt, which are all within a short drive of the town centre, the Tan y Foel horse riding centre is also nearby. The Anglesey Racetrack is located in nearby Aberffraw, promising a thrilling day out.
