Tan Yr Allt Gallery, a 9-mile return railway journey following the side of the lake, glassblobbery, Caerau Uchaf Gardens – highest gardens open to the public in North Wales, and a little further, Llangollen. North are Llechwedd Slate Caverns in Blaenau Ffestiniog, Swallow Falls in Betws Y Coed and then on to Snowdon with its railway, Sygun copper mines, and numerous historic castles including Harlech, Caernarfon and Conwy.
