Attractions close by include the National Trust owned Bodnant Gardens and Bodnant Welsh Food Centre, with its fine dining restaurant, tea rooms, wine shop, cookery school, farm shop and bee keeping centre. Further down the Conwy Valley, the towns of Llanrwst and Betws-y-Coed are well worth a visit, and from Blaenau Ffestiniog, a narrow gauge railway winds its way through spectacular scenery to the famous Italianate village of Portmeirion, and then onwards to Caernarfon, with its medieval castle and views of Anglesey and the Menai Strait. Visit Surf Snowdonia in the Conwy Valley, the UK’s first artificial surfing lake. Beach 6 miles. Shop ¼ mile, pub and restaurant 100 yards.
