Cwmhir Court is peacefully tucked away on the fringes of Clyro, though within easy walking distance of Hay on Wye, a vibrant cultural market town famed for the annual book festival. With a castle and small independent cinema, Hay has an excellent selection of quirky shops, cafes, bars and restaurants along with a weekly farmers market on a Thursdays showcasing the seasonal local produce, cheese and crafts. In warmer weather you can enjoy paddling or wild swimming at The Warren, the local beach on the banks of the river. Walkers are well served with access onto the Offa s Dyke footpath, and Wye Valley Walk. For a quieter, easier stroll but still with spectacular views, the Roundabout Walk on The Begwns above Clyro is a good one to start with. The Silo is set within an enclosed garden where you can enjoy the views before you step inside. It has been constructed out of two farm silos, creating a contemporary space simply finished with smooth curved walls and subtle lighting which further enhances the architectural design. The entrance hall enjoys a high ceiling with natural light, a small utility room with washing machine and WC. To the right you access the lounge, here you can relax and take in the views. There is a small library of books for guests to enjoy, and a wall mounted TV. To the left of the entrance hall is the kitchen/diner, well equipped and fitted to the curve of the building, with electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, and dishwasher. A table and chairs for five sits by the window. Follow the curve of the building up the wooden staircase to the landing and here you can look back into the lounge. The first floor offers two bedrooms, a double with stunning views with an outside balcony and en suite shower room with shower and WC, and a double room also with breathtaking views, which shares a shower and WC on the landing with the single room, accessed by a curved wooden staircase to the second floor. Outside there is an enclosed garden with table and chairs and charcoal BBQ. Guests also have access onto well waymarked footpaths from the grounds. There is off road parking for two cars.
