Region: From the lush green farmlands of the Borders to the ruggedness of the Highlands, the Scots are proud of their land and identity. Scotland also has some of Britain's best beaches with glorious stretches of clean sand over which to roam.
Town: The lovely little spa town of Strathpeffer grew up after the discovery of exceptionally pure springs in the 18th Century. The waters were declared the healthiest in Britain in 1819 and the town burgeoned from there. The pavilion has been restored and is now used as a venue for events including concerts, dramas and live theatre. The former railway station was built in the Victorian times and it now serves as home to The Highland Museum of Childhood and craft workshops. Holiday makers can still sample the water in the old pump house, which is also a Tourist Information point. There are lovely walks to explore nearby and Strathpeffer is super base for a holiday as it is close to many attractions and only 20 miles from the thriving city of Inverness.
This lodge is located in Heights of Achterneed, a neighborhood in Strathpeffer. Castle Leod and Strathpeffer Pump Room are local landmarks, and some of the area's attractions include Campbells of Beauly and Wildwoodz Paintball and Lasertag Park.
