Also in Newborough is The Codmother for great fish and chips. There are also several pubs near the property and at Menai Bridge, Dylan's set on the Menai Straits, is recommended (booking advisable). There is an Asda in Llangefni 3 miles from the property and a Waitrose in Menai Bridge. Oriel Ynys Mon (Art Gallery) Llangefni is well worth a visit and exhibits works by renowned Welsh artists with a permanent exhibition of Sir Kyffin Williams's work which he donated to the gallery and also priceless works of Charles Tunnicliffe. There is an interesting shop and a good cafe are attached to the gallery. Llynnon MillThis has the only remaining working windmill on the island where once there were dozens. Enjoy watching bread being baked in the traditional way and buy freshly ground flour for your own baking. In the woods nearby are re-constructed pre-historic roundhouses which depict life on the island 3,000 years ago. Plas Newydd House and Garden (NT)Located at the edge of the Menai Straits is this beautiful Gothic Manor house which is full of interest including the fascinating wall murals by the artist Rex Whistler. The star of the show however are the beautiful sloping lawns with their mature variety of trees and shrubs.
