Sit around the dining table with a view of the garden behind you and tuck into a tasty meal, and on fresh mornings you can enjoy breakfast here with the doors wide open to bring in the country breeze. Drift off in one of the two delightful bedrooms both with views of the open countryside. The first with a king-size bed boasting muted grey matching furnishings, as well as an en-suite shower room. The second bedroom features a zip/link super-king-size bed, an inviting sight at the end of a long but exciting day, but it can be changed to a twin room to suit the needs of the group on request prior to your stay, whilst also having a large wardrobe for your belongings. Guests can indulge in a relaxing soak in the freestanding bath within the bathroom, surrounded by the wood-panelled walls, it's a brilliant space to wind down in. Play games on the lawn with the little ones or simply enjoy sitting outside listening to the sounds of the birds and nature getting on with their day, a truly tranquil spot all to yourself. Gardener's Lodge lies not far from the centre of Huby, around half-a-mile away, where a pub (CAMRA York pub of the year 2019), a Chinese restaurant & take away, a fish and chip shop and a local shop are all there to ensure you have a well-catered stay in North Yorkshire. Experience handling a majestic bird of prey at the York Bird of Prey Centre, just over a mile away, here you can see these impressive creatures up close and learn about their interesting behaviours. Golfers can look to enjoy the 18-hole course at Easingwold Golf Club which welcomes visitors, while anglers can look forward to a choice of fishing lakes within 2 miles including Redwood Park and Folly Wood Fishery stocked with carp, roach and bream among the selection. Head into the historic city of York for a wonderful day out, 15 minutes to the park and ride. Visit Clifford's Tower, a 13th century castle keep afterwards going to York Castle Museum set around a recreated Victorian street. The Jorvik Viking Centre is a popular attraction holding a reconstructed Viking village, whilst The York Dungeon is a gruesome and gory exhibit about times past in this walled city. Discover a huge selection of quirky cafés and independent restaurants to indulge in some tasty food, as well as a host of quaint shops both local and high street to browse. The Georgian market town of Easingwold lies 5 miles to the North, with an interesting range of shops and a monthly farmers market. Thirsk, the home of James Herriott and the Yorkshire Vet is 20 minutes by car. Settled on the edge of the Howardian Hills AONB is the National Trust's Nunnington Hall, an elegant manor house perfect for exploring with a walled garden, as well Castle Howard which is an ornate stately home from the 18th century, both fantastic locations to incorporate into a walk in this scenic area.
