This Grade II Listed Chapel Offers Quintessential English Romance, Sleeping 8., Askrigg

Yorkshire Dales. Sleeps up to 8

Located in the picturesque village of Askrigg, surrounded by the dramatic scenery of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, this Grade II listed chapel offers quintessential English romance. Guests are just a 2-minute stroll from the three village pubs, tearoom and shop.

Askrigg Chapel is an elegant reverse level abode with second floor open-plan living, vaulted exposed beam ceilings, oak wooden floors, arched stained-glass windows with views out across Wensleydale and not to mention a stunning wrought iron staircase designed and installed by the Yorkshire sculptor Craig Dyson.

Steps lead to the main entrance on the first floor into the impressive dining hall showcasing the staircase that leads to the second floor. Here, table and chairs seating four guests create the perfect place for a game of cards with family and friends. Adjacent to the hall are two bedrooms tastefully decorated to capture the sympathetic décor in the Chapel; the master bedroom featuring a walk-in dressing room, bathroom with free-standing bath and a luxury Hamman Turkish style steam room with shower overhead and further second bedroom with fitted wardrobes and en-suite shower room.

A second wrought iron staircase leads to the ground floor living space boasting a dining kitchen, utility room, cloakroom with WC and the remainder of the four bedrooms. The super king-size bedroom with en-suite shower room and the delightful forth bedroom, both looking out onto the patio garden at the rear of the property.
Head upstairs to the second floor to the magnificent open-plan living area with galleried landing overlooking the dining hall. The contemporary fireplace in the centre encased in glass and bespoke bar really set the scene. There is ample seating in the sitting area with gorgeous sofas flanking the fireplace, whilst the dining table with eight chairs overlooks Wensleydale through the arched stained-glass windows, all accompanied by a wonderful bespoke kitchen boasting granite worktops, breakfast bar and modern appliances.

Outside to the rear of the Chapel is the more than adequate patio area with two seating areas where you can enjoy an alfresco meal cooked on the gas barbecue whilst peering across at the stunning scenery and then retire for a night cap on the more comfortable garden suite near the pond (please do not leave children unattended).
Askrigg Chapel is the hub for a perfect, well-deserved break in the Yorkshire Dales and real Herriot country, where you will find a number of walks and cycling routes for all levels of experience. One of our favourites is Askrigg Bottoms meadows in the middle of June, a Site of Special Scientific Interest and perfect for families and friends who want to stretch there legs before they pop into the local tearoom, Bakewell.
