The Lookout is a spacious cottage located in Berwick-upon-Tweed, Scottish Borders, offering stunning views over the estuary and out to the North Sea. Built in the 1740-50s by the Admiralty as a lookout point, it has historical maritime interest and is ideal for couples and families who love a sea view. The cottage features a charming sitting room with large sofas, antique maps and prints, a well-equipped kitchen/diner with a multi-fuel stove, and comfortably rustic accommodation with fabulous views from all rooms. The larger double bedroom has a super king-size bed, while the second bedroom has a double bed and an antique carved double-size wardrobe. The family bathroom has a full-length bath with a power shower over it.

The garden in front of the cottage has attractive garden furniture, a lawn, a colourful flower bed, and a small terrace for guests to enjoy breakfast while taking in the glorious views of the sea and the town of Berwick. A small barbecue and shed for bicycle storage are also available. Spittal Beach, with its golden sands and Art Deco amusement pavilion, is a 10-minute walk away, while unspoilt beaches and the town of Berwick-upon-Tweed can be reached within a 15-minute car journey. The area is steeped in history, with battlefields, castles, and the Heritage Coast nearby. Lindisfarne and Holy Island are just 10 miles down the coast, and the East Coast mainline trains provide easy access to Edinburgh and Newcastle upon Tyne.
