Callander 10.4 miles. Glenfinglas Dam Cottage is an idyllic cottage hidden within the rural community of Brig O'Turk, Scotland. Resting within the raw beauty of The Loch Lomond and Trossachs nature reserve, this delightful dwelling is a great base for families seeking an action-packed adventure in the Scottish Highlands. As you step inside this splendid abode following an eventful morning exploring the surrounding areas, kick off your mud-splattered boots and take off your coats, before getting cosy on the sofa and unwinding with your favourite shows on the TV with the log burning stove lit on those chilly evenings. Grab your ingredients from the cupboards and spend quality time with the children, baking in the stylish and well-lit kitchen. Prepare a tasty afternoon snack for the family to tuck into at the dining table, as you discuss your plans for the evening ahead. Venture upstairs to the bathroom and indulge in some time to yourself, with a long soak in the bathtub. The tranquil single bedroom is the perfect place to lose yourself in a book, or drift away for a dreamy afternoon nap. Wander through to the double bedroom and take your time to select an outfit for the evening from the built-in wardrobe, whilst taking in the breath-taking views over Glenfinglas Dam to the surrounding mountains. Read the children a bed time story as you tuck them in for bed in the pretty twin bedroom. Glenfinglas Dam Cottage is ideally located to make the most of the surrounding area with your children and canine companions. If you don’t fancy getting in your car, numerous walks of varying difficulty can be found right from the front door, as most of them are signposted, including the Mell Circuit where you can climb to a high pass to circle Meall Cala. If you have a love of mountain biking, then the 16.8 miles Glenfinglas Meall Route starts from the bottom of the driveway! For the more adventurous the mountains of Ben A’an, Ben Venue and Ben Ledi are only a couple of minutes’ drive away. The Steamship ‘Sir Walter Scott’ is only 3 miles away and this is a great day out for the whole family - you can even get the steamship one way and cycle the way back racing the boat. The beautiful Loch Venacher is just a few miles away; why not enjoy a tranquil walk along the water’s edge followed by a delicious slice of homemade cake at Venacher Lochside café? Make the most of your time in the area with a trip to Go Ape Aberfoyle for an exhilarating family day out or drive into the nearby town of Callander and be enchanted by the outstanding waterfalls of Bracklinn Falls, and stop off for a light bite to eat at Puddingstone Place where you can try out the national dish of haggis, neeps and tatties. No trip to Brig O'Turk is complete without a trip to the Trossachs; dust off your bikes and cycle through the surreal National Park, stopping to appreciate the magnificent landscapes and admire the exquisite Loch Lomond. Enjoy special, memorable moments at Glenfinglas Dam Cottage, where you will be sure to return. EPC Rating: Band F
