Relax in this calm and lovingly furnished home. This beautiful barn offers comfortable accommodation set over two floors, a charming space for a couple looking for a peaceful retreat. Chichester is not far away with its cobbled streets, cathedral, theatre, shops and cafes, and this lodge is perfectly located in the Downland village of Funtington with restaurants and country pubs on its doorstep. The sandy expanse of West Withering beach is a short drive away.
The space
This newly decorated barn is set over two floors and furnished to a high standard. Enter the property into the open plan kitchen and sitting room which is a beautiful room for dining and relaxing with views out to neighboring gardens. On the ground floor is also a walk-in shower room. The large bedroom on the mezzanine floor is quirky with its beautiful beams, large windows and glass balustrade offering a bright and peaceful sleeping space. The bedroom has a high quality king sized bed to ensure a good night's sleep with hotel style linen and toiletries. Outside is a private sitting area perfect for enjoying a sun downer with views across the tended lawns and gardens of the host's property.
Guest access
There is one allocated car parking space just outside the property and you enter via a shared driveway with the property's sister holiday home. There is a local bus service at the end of the road, offering infrequent buses to Chichester. It is advisable to have a car to get around.

* Standard check-in time is 4pm onwards and check-out time is before 10am. * Please note a fee of £100 for lost keys and £50 for call outs if locked out.
Supermarkets
The Grange Farm shop is a 5 min walk away. At the main road, turn right and it is a couple of hundred yards away, past the Fox and Hounds pub). Sells all fresh bread, milk, local fresh veg/fruit as well as stocking "Cook" meals. There are two Co-ops in Bosham, a small one near the station and a larger one with Post Office on Delling Lane. Chichester main supermarkets are all approximately 10-15 mins by car. Tesco (5 miles), Waitrose (5.5 miles), Sainsburys (5.7 miles).
Local Restaurants
Hallidays Restaurant is a few minutes walk away at the end of Watery Lane (turn left at the bottom of the road). The Fox and Hounds pub is about a 5 minute walk away on the main road towards Havant (turn right out of the road - the pub is just a few hundred yards down in the right hand side). The Richmond Arms is a ten minute walk in the neighboring village, West Ashling (turn left out of the road, cross over to Halliday's and follow Watery Lane to the end and then turn right). The restaurant is on your left after the Mill Pond. NotSo Sushi, (5 mins by car) in Concierge Camping - follow Watery Lane and follow signs to Bosham. Ashling Park Vineyard Food and Fizz - 2 Mins by car - on the main road (B2146) back towards Chichester. Horse & Groom, East Ashling - another lovely local pub, great food. Local Attractions
Kingley Vale nature reserve is right on our doorstep and is fantastic for walking and cycling. Bosham Harbor and Saxon church are a short drive away - there are cafes and a pretty pub both overlooking the water. For the wine lovers, there is an award winning vineyard, just 1 mile away, Ashling Park, who do daily tours, Thursday to Sunday. Visit ashlingpark.co.uk for more details. The Roman town of Chichester is 5 miles east of Funtington and its pedestrian centre is home to boutique shops, cafes, restaurants, galleries and The Chichester Cathedral with its unique separate bell tower. Bird watchers might spot the Peregrine Falcons nesting in the tower. West Wittering beach is a beautiful, sandy, blue flag beach and is in a Site of Special Scientific Interest. It is largely undeveloped retaining its natural beauty and there is plenty of parking. It is perfect for walkers, swimmers, paddle boards and kite surfers. The Trundle is the highest point on the South Downs Way, part of the South Downs National Park, with spectacular views across Chichester Harbor and is part of the famous Goodwood Estate (famous for its annual motor racing events, horse racing). West Dean Gardens on the Midhurst Road is one of the greatest restored gardens open to the public in England - wander around the grand pergola or enjoy a walk through the historic Arboretum. The Weald & Downland Living Museum, next door to West Dean Gardens showcases historic buildings, rebuilt brick by brick and set in beautiful downland countryside.
