There are numerous leisure and wildlife opportunities nearby as well as many picturesque villages and important historical sites including Burghley House, Elton Hall, Fotheringhay Castle and Crowland Abbey. Peterborough, with its 12th and 13th century cathedral, museum, Flag Fen Archaeology Park featuring a Bronze Age village and causeway remains, and Ferry Meadows recreation area are 12 miles away. Also worth a visit are Nene Valley Railway, Nene Park and Thorpe Wood. Northampton, Kettering and Corby are all within a short drive. Shop 3 miles, pub and restaurant 1 mile.
