Located in its own level garden, at the end of its own private driveway The Escapes’ open plan living space has oak flooring and triple aspect, full-length floor to ceiling windows. Designed to encompass the panoramic, uninterrupted, 270°, long distance views of dramatic Bodmin Moor, including Caradon Hill, Sharp Tor and Notter Tor, they also provide an abundance of natural light. A sumptuous kingsize, Victorian, feature brass bed and sparkling crystal wall lights grace the oak floored bedroom. The en-suite with its shimmering mosaic tiled floor is reminiscent of the sea, whilst the pretty stained glass windows complete the beach hut feel. Dressing gowns and slippers are also provided to provide a comfortable stay. This fabulous lodge effectively combines contemporary chic with rustic delight to create a luxurious, memorable setting for your relaxing break together. Outside, the large veranda provides all weather, decked seating, where you can breakfast in the glow of the beautiful sunrise over Kit Hill, and later dine in the splendour of the picturesque evening sunset over the moor.
Explore the impressive gardens and grounds; part of which is an established spring wild flower meadow, attracting an abundance of wildlife. Local public footpaths and quiet lanes are available directly from the property, offering the opportunity to stroll, run or cycle amidst this wonderful countryside. The level car parking provides ample storage for bikes, canoes, boat and trailers. This beautiful area of Cornwall really is a hidden gem. Its peaceful central location and easy access to all major routes means that exploring the many delights of both Cornwall and Devon couldn’t be easier. Local National Trust properties include; Cotehele, Buckland Abbey and Lydford Gorge. Neighbouring Bodmin Moor villages include Pensilva, with moorland horse riding, Minions with its moorland walks to the historic Hurlers Stone Circles and the Cheesewring rocks, which offer spectacular panoramic views to the coast.
The open-air Sterts Theatre and Arts Centre is close by, as is Siblyback Lake with its windsurfing, fishing, kayaking, walking and off road cycle trail. The nearby lush picturesque Tamar Valley, where Gunnislake forms the start of the stunning Tamar Valley Railway Line, is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and World Heritage Site. Canoe and cycle hire are available at Calstock, which is situated opposite historic Morwellham Quay on the banks of the beautiful River Tamar. The ancient market towns of Callington, with its many amenities, Launceston, with its Norman castle and steam railway, and Liskeard, which offers a scenic train ride to the golden beaches of Looe, are all a short drive away. Cornwall’s fabulous north coast, with the unforgettable beaches of Padstow, Newquay and Watergate Bay, and the south coast with the atmospheric fishing villages of Polperro, Fowey and Looe, can be reached within an hour.
