Greenacres has plenty of parking and a large, flat enclosed garden with a huge patio on which to enjoy the evening sun.

The River Gannel, a tidal estuary that flows inland from the beach at Crantock, is a delight for walkers and kayakers, and a haven for sea birds and wildlife. The boating lake in Newquay, with its lakeside café and coffee shop, is a great space to stroll around. The zoo, an indoor swimming pool, skate park and tennis club are all easily reached on foot from the house.

The beaches of Newquay, its crowning attraction, are also within a short walk. There are approximately 11 beaches and all provide something different. The surf schools are numerous, with hire shops and tuition aplenty, so no reason not to try your hand at the UK’s fastest growing water sport. Newquay has great little coffee shops, cafés, bars and restaurants to suit all tastes. The cinema is a great alternative night out, followed by dinner at one of the beachside pubs and bars. Newquay Golf Club has a dramatic backdrop of Fistral Beach with views out to sea. The harbour, still home to working fishing boats, offers sea fishing trips and you may even catch the evening’s supper!

The coastline in this part of Cornwall is simply stunning and should not be missed. From Padstow in the north to St Ives in the west, the coastal drive is one of the world’s best, with secret coves next to wide sandy beaches. Padstow, with its foodie empire and the Camel Trail, is great for cycling or a stroll whilst enjoying fish and chips from Rick Stein’s takeaway. Beach 1 mile. Shop 600 yards, pub and restaurant 400 yards.
