A quiet path takes you to the beach, local pub and restaurant which can all be reached within minutes. The Cornish coastal path passes close by, and stunning walks can be enjoyed from the door. The town of Fowey, with its annual royal regatta and literary festival, is nearby and makes for an excellent day out, with deep sea fishing trips, kayaking along the tranquil river, and plenty of galleries, shops and cafés all lining the narrow historic streets that lead to the harbour. The village of Polmear, with its local pub, is within easy walking distance for an evening sundowner or great pub meal. The beach at Polkerris is just minutes away and is the archetypal Cornish beach with soft, white sand with adjacent beach bistro, café, ice cream van and local pub, and makes an excellent place to spend the day whatever your age, whether rock pooling, kayaking or just soaking up the view and relaxing on the beach. The area has many natural and manmade attractions and some that combine the best of both, such as the Eden Project, the Lost Gardens of Heligan and many other local gardens. There are many opportunities to enjoy the area without the car as a local branch line station is nearby, thereby enabling you to use the train to explore other parts of the county. There are also cycle paths and cycle hire companies nearby.
