Equal distance is the famous deep water port and marinas of Falmouth, with an excellent all year round calendar of events including Sea Shanty week in June, Falmouth Week, an extravaganza of music, food and carnival celebration in August, to the popular Oyster Festival in October. There is plenty of culture, with the National Maritime Museum and Pendennis Castle both offering events throughout the year.
For the more adventurous you will find scuba diving, sailing, kayaking and of course miles of glorious coastal paths to explore. Prestigious Mylor Harbour is close by and offers boat owners a public slipway and berths. The north coast provides some of Cornwall’s best surfing beaches. Sub-tropical gardens to explore include Trelissike, Trebah and Durgan, or take the drive on to the King Harry Ferry over to the Roseland Peninsula to discover St Mawes, with its castle perched on the headland overlooking Falmouth Estuary or visit one of the many secluded beaches.
