With underfloor heating throughout, this really is the most wonderful place to enjoy with family and friends. High ceilings and sparkling granite worktops greet you when you enter the fantastic kitchen area, which is complete with an island to gather around and enjoy everyone’s company. The impressive Aga stands proudly against the handcrafted kitchen, along with the American fridge/freezer with ice storage and the ‘must have’ Nespresso coffee machine. You also have a large, beamed, open plan dining/living area with seating for everyone and a feature fireplace with a wood burner. If you feel in the mood, you can even tinkle on the ivories of the piano! Downstairs also benefits from a bathroom with free-standing, roll-top bath and a separate shower room, so there should be no queueing for facilities here. All the bedrooms offer crisp linen and an excellent interior design.
Venture outside to admire the wonderful views across the countryside, and enjoy your own private hot tub and a courtyard with seating, where you can enjoy lazy summer evenings after a day spent exploring. From the doorstep you will find a network of footpaths and walks to enjoy, or why not explore Ashbourne and all this beautiful area has to offer?
Ashbourne is rich in original cobbled lanes, old market stalls and grand Georgian buildings lining the streets. It also boasts a great selection of restaurants, interesting shops and traditional coaching inns to enjoy. All within easy reach to visit are the famous historic houses of Chatsworth and Haddon Hall, renowned for their architecture and beautiful gardens. This is a great base from which to explore the nearby Peak District delights such as Matlock and Matlock Bath, which has been attracting visitors since the 17th century. A host of other places to visit include Gulliver’s Kingdom, the Peak Mining Museum and the Heights of Abraham, which can be reached by cable car.
You can venture a little further north to the famous market town of Bakewell and the sample the tasty Bakewell Pudding from the original pudding shop. Or why not explore the well-known Tissington and Monsal Trails, where you can hire a bike and cycle for miles without seeing a single car? Add to this the famous Alton Towers Theme Park and you really are spoilt for choice. This is a fabulous cottage in a great location to enjoy at any time of the year. Shop, pub and restaurant 3 miles.
