Surrounded by spectacular countryside and panoramic views in all directions, The Barn at Grislow Field can be found in an unrivalled location bordering the villages of Curbar and Baslow, within the heart of The Peak District National Park. Adjacent to a former farmhouse and close to the owner’s stables on a working farm, the property enjoys a rural outlook and is secluded yet centrally located for everything the Peak District has to offer.
For outdoor enthusiasts, walks can be taken direct from the door, with a network of footpaths crossing the owner’s land, or for those wanting a peaceful break you can cosy up in front of the wood burning stove, taking in the remarkable scenery through the French windows.
Curbar is a popular and sought after village with a collection of sunken Peak District millstones in the centre, and has a pub, café and art gallery making it a wonderful base for walks, climbing and mountain biking. Baslow and its triple-arched river bridge is a large village, offering a range of village amenities including a variety of shops, pubs and restaurants, even a Michelin star one too!
Nearby is historic Chatsworth House, with its opulent interiors and extensive gardens and parkland. The popular market town of Bakewell can be reached in just 10 minutes, and the towns of Matlock and Buxton are around half an hour away. The pretty Hope Valley villages and their range of attractions such as Hathersage, 10 minutes, with its open air swimming pool and the ever popular honeypot villages of Castleton and Edale, home to the start of the Pennine Way are all easily accessible. Sheffield and Chesterfield can both be reached in around half an hour and the UK’s premier theme park, Alton Towers, is around an hour away.
