Skerries is a stunning detached house close to the heart of Strete. Carefully refurbished, it is stylish accommodation with great views to the sea from big windows. At the heart of the house you will find the big sociable country style kitchen with its dining table, leather sofa, TV and doors which slide open on a fine day to the terrace. In the evenings snuggle up beside the glowing open fire in the comfy sitting room, also with glass terrace doors. The bonus here is the additional spacious sitting room when you head down the flight of stairs from the kitchen, giving plenty of space for the family to spread out and relax. The bedrooms ramble comfortably and generously over the ground and first floors. The garden around the house is safely enclosed, with a sunny terrace for enjoying the coastal views over evening drinks, and private Mediterranean-style space to explore. If you don't feel like cooking, wander out to the village restaurant or head to the historic old town of Dartmouth with a choice of excellent eateries. Here you can also catch a movie at the cinema or take a trip on the steam railway or a river boat. The shingle beach in Strete is charming, or you can walk along the Coast Path to a secluded cove or the big popular beaches at Blackpool Sands or Slapton. Skerries is a lovely family base in a beautiful area.
