Accommodation:

Enter via the beautiful stable door from Browns Hill Steps into the light and airy open-plan kitchen diner; Wood floors, worktops and large kitchen table are contrasted by the colourful Aga and dining chairs, all a feast for the eyes. The kitchen area to the left is equipped with an Aga oven with hobs and Belfast sink, the Smeg fridge freezer is on the opposite side of the room along with the farmhouse style sideboard, the kitchen table is in the centre of the room with seating for 6. There is a cloakroom and WC just off the kitchen.

A steep flight of stairs with rope handrail head up from the kitchen to the first-floor lounge; again, a light and airy open-plan space with painted floors and contrasting antique and contemporary furnishings. The feature staircase with dual access bottom steps stands proudly, offering access to the bedrooms upstairs. The lounge area comfortably seats guests with a sumptuous sofa and relaxing armchairs.

Upstairs to the bedrooms and bathroom set into the eaves, the master bedroom has a double bed, side tables, hanging space and a chest of drawers. The view from the window is out across the rooftops towards Kingswear. The second bedroom has a full-size single bed along with hanging space. The bathroom has a roll-top bath that sits neatly in the eaves - perfect for some gentle relaxation. There is no shower in the bathroom.

May Cottage really needs to be seen to be appreciated. With its magical charm and beauty, it really is the perfect place to take a pause.


Parking:

May Cottage offers no specific parking space, but it is possible to pull up at the bottom of Browns Hill Steps to unload. The Market Square at the bottom of the steps offers free unrestricted parking every day except Tuesday and Friday when the market is in town, alternatively the closest unrestricted on-street parking is behind the cottage in the Mount Boone area of town, or there is long-stay parking at the Park & Ride facility at the top of town.
