Black Pit Cottage is a beautifully refurbished old stone building in a spectacular position perched just above the beach at Lee Bay with direct views over the beach and out to sea, and adjacent to National Trust land. Internally, the property is finished to a high standard with underfloor heating throughout. The modern open plan living area also has a wood burner for cosy evenings in. The property has two double bedrooms both with en suites and sea views. Externally, guests can enjoy two spacious patios, with a built-in barbeque and patio furniture, perfect for al fresco dining or enjoying a glass of wine whilst watching the waves. The cottage also has an outside shower which is ideal for use after a day at the beach. The peaceful village of Lee Bay is a ten minute drive (less than four miles) from the popular beaches at Woolacombe and Croyde, and is surrounded by dramatic coastline on the edge of Exmoor. When the tide is out, Lee Bay beach is a golden sandy beach ideal for children, offering swimming, canoeing and rock pooling. Next door is the picturesque NGS garden at Cliffe, open from April to September, boasting a diverse range of habitats and stunning coastal views. Nearby there are Blue Flag beaches and surfing at Saunton, Croyde and Woolacombe. Woolacombe also has plenty of options for evening entertainment, especially in the summer months. Ilfracombe’s bustling high street and harbour are ten minutes away and the South West Coastal Path passes directly alongside the cottage with access to National Trust cliff top walks about 200 yards away.
