The local area has two popular parks, Avon Heath Country Park and Moors Valley Country Park. The nearest traffic-free cycle paths are in Hurn Forest and the Castleman Trail. There are also many trails all over the New Forest National Park, where wild ponies roam freely among miles of heathland. There are many other places of interest to visit within the area, such as the village of Burley, Exbury Gardens and Beaulieu Motor Museum. Regular ferries to the Isle of Wight depart from the famous royal yachting town of Lymington. Bournemouth beach is close by, being 4 miles away. At the foot of the pier is the fascinating Oceanarium where the whole family can discover life beneath the waves.
