This former school, attached to the owners’ home, is a 19th century, semi-detached, single-storey holiday property filled with character. It is ideally situated to explore Dumfries and Galloway, with its rugged coastlines and secluded sandy beaches, which benefit from the warmth of the passing Gulf Stream. The area is surrounded by breathtaking scenery, offering an ideal base from which to explore the Machars peninsula and the Galloway Hills. Discover this peaceful region with its unspoilt countryside. Sandhead, Portpatrick, the Isle of Whithorn and the Mull of Galloway RSPB nature reserve, where thousands of seabirds nest in the cliff face during the spring and summer, are within easy reach. With the 7 Stanes nearby, this is a cyclists paradise. There are many activities nearby, including shooting, fishing and golf. There are five 18-hole golf courses and several stocked lochs and reservoirs within 5 miles of the property, where both trout and course fishing is available, at cost. Stranraer is just a few minutes’ away, and offers a selection of shops and restaurants. Take a day trip to Ireland from Cairnryan, just 6 miles away. Pottery and painting classes are available on request, with a renowned local artist on site. Beach 2 miles. Shop ½ mile, pub and restaurant 1½ miles.
