Hilton House, Brecon

Brecon Beacons. Sleeps up to 3

Hilton House is a pretty little cottage with a green door close to the centre of the village of Talgarth with a garden next to the river where there are little waterfalls tumbling down over the rocks with Dippers perching on them. Somewhere you can sit and while away a morning just sitting in the sunshine. Really idyllic even in a small market town to find that. On the opposite bank of the river is the popular Talgarth Mill ; this was featured on the BBC series 'Village SOS' showing the development of the mill and waterwheel. Now a few years later it has an excellent cafe and working flour mill. Just wander down to your local baker in the morning for fresh bread or for a coffee and watch the Mill workings. The cottages was recently features in The Saturday Times as one of the cosiest cottages.

The nearby Pwll-yr-Wrach nature reserve and waterfalls provide walks through the woodlands which are full of wild flowers and animals. Within a few minutes drive you are high up on The Black Mountains and with miles of wild walking or in the other direction up in The Brecon Beacons. For adventurous visitors why not visit the nearby Gliding Centre and see Talgarth from the air. Hay-on-Wye is only a 10 minute drive where again you will be spoilt for choice for places to eat and thre there are lots of craft/boutique shops and always the second hand and antique book shops.
