Regency Cheltenham, 8 miles, has boutique shopping, Cheltenham Racecourse and world-famous jazz and literary festivals. Cirencester, the ’Capital of the Cotswolds’, is 10 miles away and is a charming Roman market town. Slightly further afield is Bibury, reputedly acknowledged by William Morris as ‘the prettiest village in England’. Visit Bourton-on-the-Water, Moreton-in-Marsh with its famous Tuesday market and Chipping Campden. The city of Gloucester, with its magnificent cathedral, tomb of Edward II and regenerated docks, is within easy reach. National Trust properties are plentiful, including Snowshill Manor and Woodchester Park. For horticultural enthusiasts, there is Westonbirt Arboretum, Kiftsgate Court and Hidcote Manor.
