Local attractions are plentiful, a few minutes’ drive west takes you to the Cambrian Coast to miles of safe sandy beaches, along with attractions including Castell Y Bere, Talyllyn Railway, King Arthurs’ Labyrinth, CAT, Corris Mine exploring and craft centre. Just a short drive east leads you Bala Lake. The area also caters for those who enjoy sailing, white water rafting, high ropes, paintballing, mountain adventure with courses for 4x4s and quad bikes. Golf and horse riding can also be found locally. Tan Yr Allt Gallery, a 9-mile return railway journey following the side of the lake, glassblobbery, Caerau Uchaf Gardens – highest gardens open to the public in North Wales, and a little further, Llangollen. North are Llechwedd Slate Caverns in Blaenau Ffestiniog, Swallow Falls in Betws Y Coed and then on to Snowdon with its railway, Sygun copper mines, and numerous historic castles including Harlech, Caernarfon and Conwy.
