The properties are peacefully located in a superb scenic area near to the delightful village of Droxford, which sits in the beautiful Meon Valley and the South Downs National Park. These three carefully converted single storey properties (refs UKC2760, UKC2761 and UKC2762) have been thoughtfully and tastefully styled throughout. Each property has a wood burner, and a super kingsize Hypnos bed, which can be separated to make twin beds. There is a shared bike/boot store/utility room, private parking for 2 cars per property, and an enclosed patio and lawned garden area. Guests have the added benefit of enjoying the superb Victorian walled garden adjacent. Here you can spend time meandering and savour the beautiful landscaped gardens with croquet lawn, seating areas and ever changing plants, shrubs and trees through the seasons. For those wishing to enjoy calm and serenity this makes the perfect retreat. There is also a livery opposite which guests are welcome to use by prior arrangement with the owner.
Both Garden Cottage and Stable Cottage have superb far reaching views over countryside where sheep, deer, various birds (including buzzards, pheasant and owls), can be observed, and all three barn conversions have access to superb walks less than two minutes from the door! The disused Meon Valley railway line is 11 miles long, ideal for walking, cycling and horse riding. There is easy access onto this and the properties are set approximately half way between Wickham and West Meon. The Wayfarers Walk can also be joined at Chalk Hill, Soberton. This a 71-mile trail runs from Inkpen Beacon in the north of the county to the sea at Emsworth. There are also easy links to the South Downs National Park and also nearby is Bere Forest, a 100-acre woodland area with walks and play areas. The River Meon is close by and is ideal for trout fishing and there are various golf clubs within the area. There is a lovely country pub just 550 yards from the properties, and many other popular pubs and inns within a 5 mile radius. There is a lovely historic church adjacent to the pub. West Meon is about a 5-minute drive, with pubs serving great food and where the founder of Lords cricket rests. Wickham and Bishops Waltham are about 6 miles away, with an array of independent shops, cafés, pubs and restaurants. Places to visit within easy reach include Winchester cathedral, the New Forest, Chichester and beaches at Hayling Island. Portsmouth with the Spinnaker Tower, waterside dining, museums, art galleries, theatre, retail shopping designer outlets and day trips to the Isle of Wight, all within a 30-minute drive. There is a golf course 2 miles away, and fishing, walking, birdwatching riding and cycling are all close by – making this the ideal choice for those who enjoy the outdoors. Beach 12 miles. Shop 1 mile, pub and restaurant 550 yards.
