In easy walking or driving distance from the cottage there is a lovely pub, which is opposite the famous Broadhalfpenny Down cricket pitch where cricket was founded.

The bustling local market town of Petersfield has a variety of eateries and boutique shops, whilst a 40-minute drive will take you to the cathedral cities of Winchester (home to King Arthur’s Round Table) and Chichester. Either makes a great day out, with cobbled pedestrianised streets, festivals, theatres and cinemas. Goodwood House, which is open to the public and famous for its motor and horse racing, is nearby. In the local area there are various National Trust homes, including Jane Austen’s House and Gilbert White’s House.
Portsmouth is quick and easy to get to and holds many attractions such as the Spinnaker Tower, historic ships, a D-Day museum, waterside dining, designer shopping outlets and cinemas. The ferry to the Isle of Wight leaves from Portsmouth Harbour and makes a great day trip. There are excellent golf courses in the district, incredible walks and bikes along the South Downs Way and attractions such as Marwell Zoo, Paultons Park and Peppa Pig World, all within easy driving distance. The beach at Hayling Island is only 11 miles away and is well known for its sailing and water sports. Beach 11 miles. Shop, pubs and restaurants within 1 mile.
