On the island, there is an abundance of scenery from the rolling countryside to the outstanding Heritage coastline, offering a great range of walking routes with over 500 miles of footpaths and many beaches. There are also plenty of attractions to visit including Blackgang Chine, which is the UK’s oldest amusement park, offering rides, life-sized dinosaurs, pirate ships, fairy villages and much more, just 6 miles away, The Needles is home to the famous rock formation; this attraction offers a chairlift down to Alum Bay, traditional children’s rides and glass making demonstrations, 19 miles away. Calbourne Water Mill is a fascinating day out: it is the only working water mill on the Isle of Wight and also features a small war museum, rural exhibits and a café. Explore Osborne House, which is a former royal residence that was built for Queen Victoria and Prince Albert as a summer home and rural retreat,13 miles away.
