Sandown offers magnificent sandy beaches and a pier with cafés, bars and amusements, and for any keen anglers, the pier also has a designated area for fishing. Sandown also offers Dinosaur Isle, with scale models of the prehistoric creatures, or visit the Isle of Wight Zoo, which provides a perfect day out for all the family. There’s also the opportunity to visit Shanklin or Ryde using the Sandown train.
Within an easy walk of the town centre you can find one of the broad seafront promenades with a host of shops, pubs, restaurants and even a leisure centre. Travel between Esplande, Culver Parade and Yaverland in style on the road train. Or alternatively, why not take a stroll along the 2-mile coastal path from Sandown to Shanklin and enjoy lovely sea views on either the coastal path or the sea wall promenade. Beach 200 yards. Shop, pub and restaurant ¼ mile.
