The Royal Military Canal stretches for 28 miles, with shorter towpath cycle and walking routes fanning out from Hythe, or cruise along the canal on a hired electric or rowing boat. Nearby Port Lympne Wild Animal Park and Howletts Wild Animal Park showcase lions, tigers, gorillas and meerkats, providing a marvellous safari day trip. Nearby Folkestone and Dover offer access to France for a spot of lunch or a romantic weekend break in Paris. The famous city of Canterbury is a short drive away, where guests can enjoy cobbled streets, boutique shops and the famous cathedral. Beach 50 yards. Shop, pub and restaurant 100 yards.
