A semi-detached property with lots of original features, that is light and airy and provides all the modern conveniences needed for the perfect stay, including a private courtyard garden. Originally owned by the Duchy of Lancaster the property has enjoyed a varied history, housing various members of the gentry throughout its life. Beautifully renovated and appointed by its new owners, The White House is the perfect choice for discerning guests looking for something special, with bags of character for a special occasion or just a great holiday. Wine tasting, a chef and beautician can also be arranged by prior arrangement with the owners.
Those wishing to park up and dine out will find a host of places to eat and drink within strolling distance, in the pretty market town of Aylsham, along with a good mix of high street and independent shops, or alternatively, you can enjoy a night in with a professional chef doing all your cooking, and a beautician pampering you (at cost, by direct arrangement with owner). The gateway to the North Norfolk coastline is just 20 minutes away. Here you will find a string of pretty coastal towns and villages including Cromer, with its numerous attractions including its famous Edwardian seafront, wide sandy beach and pier, museum and zoo. Sheringham is close by too and is perfect for those who just wish to potter and for beach lovers alike. Head west of here and enjoy a spot of crabbing at Blakeney, visit the picturesque quay at Wells-next-the-Sea or head east for all the fun of the fair in Great Yarmouth.
The Norfolk Broads is close by too and you can take the Bure Valley Railway from Aylsham to Wroxham, where you can charter a day launch or join an organised tour and drift along these much celebrated waterways. Make time for a trip to the medieval city of Norwich with its splendid Norman castle and many museums, theatres, galleries and attractions too. History buffs will be spoilt for choice and are sure to head to nearby Blickling Hall, where you can explore the house and gardens. All in all, you will find so much to see and do virtually on your doorstep and, after a day’s sightseeing, you can head back for a meal in The White House’s formal dining room, relax in the courtyard or sit by the wood burner with a glass of wine. Whichever you choose, you’re sure of a good night’s sleep. Beach 10 miles. Shop, pub and restaurant 500 yards.
