Having its own enclosed courtyard garden and hot tub makes this a great place to relax after a fun day of exploring. Designed and furnished to indulge guests’ enjoyment and standing detached, this single-storey conversion is situated within the owner’s garden and enjoys its own privacy. It is just a short walk to the village centre with shop and pub offering a warm welcome and serving good food. Excellent walks and cycle routes can be enjoyed direct from the doorstep, so whether you are a serious rambler, dog walker or just like an occasional stroll, the area has a large number of footpaths, parish walks, cycle and bridleways.
Just 5 miles away is the city of Norwich with theatres, castle museum, cathedral, art galleries, market square, two indoor shopping malls and plenty of restaurants and cafés. Wroxham, known as the capital of the famous Norfolk Broads, is just 4 miles away, with waterside restaurants, cafés and a variety of shops, daily boat hire and river trips. There is also a train station and miniature model village. Wonderful sandy beaches can be found at Sea Palling, 15 miles, Waxham, 16 miles, Hemsby and Winterton-on-Sea, both 18 miles.
National Trust stately homes, parks and gardens are all within the surrounding area including Blickling Hall, Felbrrigg Hall, Oxburgh Hall, Sheringham Gardens and Houghton Hall. Traditional seaside resorts include Great Yarmouth for amusements, pier and fun fair; Cromer with a pier and promenade, lighthouse and a clifftop golf course; Sheringham with the RNLI working lifeboat museum and headquarters of the North Norfolk Steam Railway.
The Georgian market town of Holt is 25 miles away with Blakeney Quay just 30 miles. The Royal Sandringham Estate and Gardens is 45 miles. Surrounding broadland villages worth visiting include Salhouse, Ranworth, Acle and Thorpe Green. There are plenty of RSPB sites and other great birdwatching opportunities nearby including Strumpshaw Fen, Hickling Broad and Ted Ellis Nature Reserve at Surlingham. A golf course can be found at Sprowston, 2½ miles away. Shop ½ mile, pub and restaurant ¼ mile.
