You ll find numerous opportunities to savour the stunning North Norfolk coast on the doorstep of this property in Burnham Overy Staithe. The village is home to a first-rate pub (The Hero) and is situated on a creek that runs by the front of the cottage. Nature lovers should take a boat from here out to Scolt Head Island an offshore barrier island famous for its dunes seals and birds. A few miles along the coast is the vast stretch of sand at Holkham which is breathtaking even by the high standards of Norfolk s other beaches. The nature reserve here is equally impressive its dunes marshland and pines provide a unique habitat for a wide range of flora and fauna. Flagstaff Cottage is in the grounds of Flagstaff House which was once the home of Captain Woodget of the Cutty Sark. You enter the cottage into a hallway from where you access the three contemporary-styled ground-floor bedrooms. The double and one of the twin bedrooms both feature en-suite bathrooms with bath shower over the bath and WC while there is also a second twin. Beautiful stone flooring runs throughout the rooms with tasteful rugs and runners adding a splash of colour and warmth. This floor also has a large shower room with WC and a utility room with a washing machine and tumble dryer. Up a flight of stairs and you find yourself in the open-plan lounge/diner that runs the length of the property and can only be described as magnificent. The views through the large windows over the creek are just superb while the sloping ceilings add a cosy home-from-home feel. Sofas and deep armchairs around the large fireplace with wood burner only add to the wonderful ambience with a DVD and video provide screen entertainment. A table and chairs for eight offer perfect dining facilities. The fully equipped kitchen includes a microwave and dishwasher. Outside there is a large shared garden and off-street parking for three cars. Boat owners take note there is ample space to store your craft directly in front of the accommodation.
