From Pickering, the iconic North York Moors Railway travels through scenic countryside to the coastal town of Whitby, a journey not to be missed while in North Yorkshire. Beyond the village lie gentle rolling hills of heather, ancient woodland and meandering rivers just waiting to be discovered by walkers or cyclists. This magnificent countryside is dotted with historic market towns including picturesque Helmsley (13 miles).
