The Old Mill Cottages are set in ¾ acre of tranquil gardens. Situated on the beautiful heritage coastal route only 2 miles from Craster, which is famous for its smoked kippers and the glorious walk to Dunstanburgh Castle. Howick Hall Gardens are nearby and well worth a visit, with banks of rhododendrons, camellias and magnolias in the spring. A visit to Holy Island, which is reached via a tidal causeway and famous for the Lindisfarne Gospels, is a must, and not forgetting the pretty village of Bamburgh with its majestic castle overlooking the wide sandy beach. Alnwick Castle and Gardens, with its spectacular grand cascade waterfall, are 4 miles away, and walking, sandy beaches, fishing, golf, surfing and cycling are close by. A former retreat run by nuns, The Old Mill (ref 25579) is ideal for families and groups of friends, with plenty of quirky living space both inside and outside making it a cosy retreat, with logs for the open fires and wood burners included. St Cuthbert’s (ref 25580) and St Bede (ref 25581) are perfect bases for couples, with some privacy in the small courtyards. Beach 2 miles. Shop, pub and restaurant 2 miles.
The Old Mill (25579) can be booked together with St Bede (25580) and St Cuthbert’s (25580) to accommodate up to 18 guests with seating available in the dining room of The Old Mill for all guests.
