The owners have painstakingly renovated this Victorian manse house, which was once the home of the local minister. There are original oak floors, doors and fireplaces which, along with the other period features, give such character. They have cleverly blended the old with the new, and the sleek kitchen is a fine example of this. The house is perfect for families or a group of friends, offering versatile space.
The kitchen and dining area, which has a wood burner, is the ideal place for sociable meal-time gatherings, but when you want to relax, you can choose between the living room (which also has a wood burner), the snug with an additional TV, or the basement games room with its pool table and darts. If all that isn’t enough, there’s also a hot tub to enjoy in the spacious, enclosed garden.
The house lies within the village of Abercych and just a mile’s walk to the friendly village pub, which also serves good food. The village sits on the River Cych, which flows through the lovely Cych Valley near Cenarth Falls, and you are on the borders of three wonderful counties: Pembrokeshire, Ceredigion and Carmarthenshire. There are plenty of woodland walks to enjoy, and at nearby Cilgerran Nature Reserve, you can observe the abundant wildlife.
The stunning views from the Preseli Mountains, the beautiful Pembrokeshire Coastal Path and the gorgeous beaches along the Pembrokeshire and Ceredigion coastline are a short drive away, not forgetting the fascinating history of the ancient castles at Newcastle Emlyn, Cilgerran and Cardigan. The many family attractions in Pembrokeshire including Heatherton World of Activities and Folly Farm are within an easy drive. The coastal areas are a draw for swimmers, beachcombers, wildlife-watchers, walkers and outdoor adventurers.
Try your hand at coasteering, surfing or paddle boarding, or take a boat trip to observe the dolphins and other wildlife. There are quaint towns to explore, history to uncover, and lots of beauty spots to be impressed by. Whether you love to walk, cycle, fish or just prefer to relax in glorious surroundings, this is the ideal base, and Maes yr Onnen will provide everything you need for a memorable holiday. Come and experience a ‘Croeso Cynnes’...or warm Welsh welcome! Beach 8 miles. Shop 2½ miles, pub and restaurant 1 mile.
