Old Beams is a wonderfully unique, attractive, Grade ll listed, detached period property on the southern edge of the Peak District National Park. Dating back to the mid-18th century, originally a coaching inn, it features (as the name might suggest) original oak beamed ceilings and a double sided open fire place. It was more recently, a Michelin star restaurant, with diners served in the muraled conservatory restaurant, is a perfect base for large group get togethers and special occasions. Offering six bedrooms and five bathrooms, it is spacious allowing guests to relax separately, or to congregate together in one room. Each bedroom boasts its own TV, and outside there’s a large lawned garden, perfect for summer evenings.
Located within the historic village of Waterhouses, there’s a delightful, traditional pub serving food, as well as a village shop and take away café. In addition, the scenic Manifold Track is on the doorstep and offers a flat, traffic-free route for both cyclists and walkers. Centrally located between Derby and The Potteries, there is a wealth of nearby attractions including Britain’s premier theme park, Alton Towers, which is around 15 minutes away, or Waterworld Tropical Aqua Park around 30 minutes. The magnificent historic houses of Shugborough Hall, Little Moreton Hall and Chatsworth House all lie within 45 minutes’ drive. Shop ½ mile, pub and restaurant ¼ mile.
